A villa inspired by sea waves that blends into the hillside with its rising and falling planted roof, curved lime walls and natural materials.
Wave House gathers beneath a single curved roof that follows the slope of an olive-covered hillside facing the Aegean instead of digging into it. The roof rises and falls like a wave; the living room sits where it rises, the bedrooms where it dips.
Roof garden
The 380-square-metre roof is covered with the region’s thyme, sage and wild grasses. It keeps the house cool in summer and collects rainwater for the garden in winter.
Interior
A curved oak ceiling continues the wave of the roof inside. A long curved window frames the sea like a strip of film.
